(Senior Counselors)

Start & End Date: June 20 – August 31

Position: Paid

Job Description: Responsible for working with their Junior Counselors to help every camper in their cabin have an amazing week.  Develop meaningful relationships with campers and be emotionally and spiritually present to their needs.  Also lead skill activities and cabin Bible studies and discussions daily. This position is very important to the success of the camp: we, as an entire staff team, set out to protect you and build you up so that you are ready to love every single camper that is in your cabin.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 19 years old
  • Experience working with youth and children

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily Bible study and discussion sessions
  • Attend evening worship (Watch) sessions with campers
  • Instruct activities during Seatrades (activities) and free time
  • Responsible for the safety and whereabouts of campers at all times; ensure that campers are supervised at all times
  • Show enthusiasm and commitment in all activities
  • Demonstrate Christ-like attitude and lifestyle to campers
  • Lead daily cabin time activities: i.e., Hikes, Frisbee golf
  • Lead and support the First Mate in counseling the cabin

General Staffing Principles

All staff will actively pursue the ministry of the camp through the application of biblical principles in his/her leadership of and personal relationships with the staff and campers.  Staff must be dedicated to showing humble servant attitudes through putting others ahead of themselves, looking for the betterment of the camp as a whole, and helping out not only in tasks, but also emotionally and spiritually in the unity of the staff team.
