Innkeeper’s Assistant

Position: Volunteer

Responsible to: Innkeeper

Job Description: Assists Yeoman/Innkeeper in office administration coordinating town trips, camp communications, processing requisition forms and managing communication and information from mainland to island. Also responsible for helping run the Mariner’s Inn (camp store). The position includes a number of retail related tasks as well as money and account management.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 17 years old
  • Office, computer, and till experience helpful
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail

Specific Responsibilities:

Daily store operations

  • Till transactions
  • Credit card transactions
  • Camper deposits
  • Stock inventory
  • Maintaining a welcoming, tidy and professional atmosphere
  • Daily cash-outs

Administration

  • Camper account spreadsheets
  • Staff account deposits and withdrawals
  • Compilation and distribution of camper pre-order t-shirts & DVD’s
  • Creating multiple spreadsheets and forms

General Staffing Principles

All staff will actively pursue the ministry of the camp through the application of biblical principles in his/her leadership of and personal relationships with the staff and campers.  Staff must be dedicated to showing humble servant attitudes through putting others ahead of themselves, looking for the betterment of the camp as a whole, and helping out not only in tasks, but also emotionally and spiritually in the unity of the staff team.
