Crew Directors
(Leadership, Evangelism and Discipleship Training Directors)
Responsible to: Program Directors
Start & End Date: June 20 – August 31
Position: Paid
Job Description: Team of two (male and female) responsible for planning and running the Crew program. Emotionally and spiritually responsible for the campers in the program and for leading them with the level of Christian leadership that they deserve. The position includes developing and teaching biblical sessions for Crew and Deckhand Program. The Crew program is intended to encourage and challenge youth in their faith and build Christian leaders with a sincere desire to serve the Lord.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum 22 years old
- Leadership training experience
- Experience working with youth ages 15-18
- Ability to lead small and large group Bible teaching sessions
Specific Responsibilities:
Lead a group of 12 youth, grades 10-11
Spiritual Sessions
- Plan curriculum for LEAD Program with assistance of Program Director
- Lead daily sessions
- Acts of service to the town of Gibsons
Other
- Plan and organize program for Crew
- Provide mentorship, leadership, and resources for Crew as they work with campers and staff
- Supervise Crew and make sure they are where they need to be at all times
- Assist Deckhand Directors where necessary (typically serving dinner every night and washing dishes once every two weeks)
General Staffing Principles
All staff will actively pursue the ministry of the camp through the application of biblical principles in his/her leadership of and personal relationships with the staff and campers. Staff must be dedicated to showing humble servant attitudes through putting others ahead of themselves, looking for the betterment of the camp as a whole, and helping out not only in tasks, but also emotionally and spiritually in the unity of the staff team.
