Boat Driver
Responsible to: Waterfront Director
Start & End Date: June 20 – August 31
Position: Paid
Job Description: Responsible for safely driving the boat for all boating activities. Also for working to see that campers and staff are having a fun & safe time in that activity. Responsible for working under the Waterfront Director to make sure boat is maintained properly and given the respect it needs to operate for as long as possible for the camp program. Also helps with other areas when needed to see the whole camp successful.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years old
- Boating License, Marine Emergency Duties Level A3
- Experience driving boats
- Experience pulling wakeboarders and tubers
- Experience coaching wakeboarding
- Lifeguarding experience helpful
- Can work in a team
- Willingness to be outgoing and enthusiastic
Specific Responsibilities:
- Drive boats for Seatrades (instructional activity time) and free time blocks
- Drive boats for special evening activities
- Drive boats for early morning staff or camper wakeboarding
- Assist waterfront director and lifeguards with daily set-up and take-down of waterfront equipment
- Drive and coach in a manner which ensures that the boats are operated in a safe and responsible manner
- Report any mechanical or exterior concerns or damages to the Waterfront Director immediately
- Properly clean and store boats at the end of each day
- Participate in weekly washing and oil change
General Staffing Principles
All staff will actively pursue the ministry of the camp through the application of biblical principles in his/her leadership of and personal relationships with the staff and campers. Staff must be dedicated to showing humble servant attitudes through putting others ahead of themselves, looking for the betterment of the camp as a whole, and helping out not only in tasks, but also emotionally and spiritually in the unity of the staff team.
