Directions
In the summer we take our campers to Keats via a charter boat leaving from the public wharf at Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver.
If you are coming to Keats Camps on your own, you can reach Keats by water taxi, charter boat, or float plane. The least expensive way is to travel via BC Ferries. (Horseshoe Bay – Langdale: Langdale – Keats Landing). Note that although you can drive onto the BC Ferry to Langdale, the second leg of the journey to Keats is a foot passenger only boat.
Specific directions for taking BC Ferries to Keats as a foot passenger: Take the Langdale ferry from Horseshoe Bay (40 minute trip). At Langdale, walk off the ferry and directly to your right is a second wharf (well signposted) where you catch the Stormaway foot passenger ferry (capacity of 40 people).
The length of the Stormaway trip varies depending on whether it has other stops to make. If the Stormaway is traveling direct from Langdale to Keats Landing, the trip is only 15 minutes. On other runs, the Stormaway goes to Gambier Island first, then makes a stop at the far end of Keats Island called Eastbourne before arriving at Keats Landing–a 45 minute trip. It’s best to check the BC Ferry schedules when planning your trip.
When you get to Keats Landing simply walk off the wharf and follow the curve of the road. The camp is just at the top of the hill, a walk of a couple minutes.
